At VMware’s Partner Exchange event at Las Vegas, Dell and VMware announced a strategic partnership to offer an end-to-end VDI solution for the mid-market.

More interesting is that the announce was also during a PEX session (EUC1322: Enabling Cloud Desktops DaaS – Partner Opportunities and Technology) giving several interesting technical detail both for the DaaS related aspects (and also the limitation with the Windows license), but also in the Dell implementation.

During the EUC session Terry Vaughn (Director of Dell Cloud Computing) has described the Dell approach and proposal.

Dell-DaaS-1

The service is build over the Dell Cloud solution using Desktone to provide Virtual Desktops that can be access from any device (including, of course, the full Dell Wyse family):

Dell-DaaS-2 Dell-DaaS-3

Also this proposal can be integrated with the Dell Partner Service Delivery Model (as all other Dell’s solutions):

Dell-DaaS-4

Of course computational aspects are important, but also security aspects and how data are managed.
