Reading Time: 4 minutes During the last IT Press Tour (the 14th), in the Silicon Valley (December 1-5, 2014) we met several companies in different categories (Cloud, Storage and Big Data). The last company that we met (on the last day) was Platfora, a company specialized in the the Big Data and Analytics world.

Reading Time: 2 minutes VMware announced the general availability of new cloud management offerings including a significant update to VMware vRealize™ Suite 6, a cloud management platform built for the hybrid cloud. The suite was announced during the last VMworld EU, but finally it’s available for the download. New product releases now available include VMware vRealize™ Operations™ 6.0, VMware vRealize Business™ 6.0 Standard, VMware vRealize Business 8.2 Advanced and Enterprise, VMware vRealize Automation™ 6.2, and VMware vRealize Log Insight™ 2.5. VMware vRealize Code Stream™ 1.0, a new solution for supporting agile development and DevOps processes, is also now available.

The third day has started (and also ended with a dinner) with Diablo Technologies, a privately held company, headquartered in Ottawa, Canada, with additional teams throughout the United States and Europe.

The second company that we met on the third day was SpanningCloudApps, a company founded on 2010 and based in Austin (TX) that provide unique cloud-to-cloud backup solutions and recently (October 2014) acquired by EMC (now is formally called Spanning by EMC).

Reading Time: 3 minutes Spanning CloudApps is a company, recently aquired by EMC, leading provider of cloud data protection for cloud SaaS appliacation like Google Apps and Saleforce. Was also one of the company that I’ve meet during the IT Press Tour 14 (for more information see also this post). Now they announced the first enterprise-­grade cloud-­to-­cloud backup solution for Office 365. It’s designed from the ground up to be fully functional on desktops, tablets and mobile devices, allowing users to access information whenever and wherever they work.
