Finally, after the official announce of one month ago the new vCloud Suite 5.5 it’s in GA and available on the download site. Also the documentions site has been update to the new product.

Note that existing 5.x licenses still works with the new products.

Also note those warnings:

  • Other products like backup programs (except the VDP 5.5), but also VMware products like Horizon View are not (yet) compatible with this suite.
  • The HCL may be different from 5.1 or other version. So be sure to verify it first.
  • vCenter Server upgrade to 5.5 may fail When upgrading from vSphere 5.1 to 5.5, the vCenter Single Sign-On upgrade may fail. This issue affects some vCenter Server 5.1 systems running with default certificates that are upgrading to vCenter Server 5.5 under certain specific conditions. To resolve this issue, before upgrading, review KB 2060511.
  • vCenter Single Sign-On 5.5 running on Windows Server 2012 authenticating to an Active Directory Domain on Windows Server 2012 will not be able to authenticate to Active Directory. To resolve this issue after installing or upgrading see KB 2060901.
  • Important note before upgrade to virtual hardware 10: Watch out with Hardware Version 10 in VMware ESXi 5.5!
