VMworld public session voting was opened some hours ago, but there are already some interesting sessions title. Seems that “network virtualization” will be a buzzword of 2013 edition, with also a new product: VMware NSX. VMware NSX supplies the same benefits to network virtualization that ESXi supplies to server virtualization and makes it possible to [...]

Recently there were some changes in the VMware Certifications Portal: The “old” VCP certification, renamed some months ago in VCP-DV and been (again) renamed in VCP-DCV (so we have VCP4-DCV and VCP5-DCV certifications). Some changes are applied to VCDX certification (VCDX4-DCV and VCDX5-DCV). Other certifications related to datacenter virtualization path actually remain with the current [...]

This was another exam where I’ve lose the opportunity to try during the beta due to the lack of available time. But during the last VMworld EU I’ve plan to take it, considering that I require few time (for the exam) e was also with a good discount! The blueprint version 2.21 is still based [...]

The current version of the VCP5(-DV) certification blueprint has been changes in the last months. My study notes are still on version 1.2 of the blueprint, but there still valid also with the version 1.41; but now, starting from version 2.x there are some major changes.

During the first day of the VMworld US, VMware has updated (and changed) its certifications page by adding more certifications (some available soon) and by defining two new certification paths. VMware is working a new certification specific for the “cloud”: VMware Certified Professional 5 – Infrastructure as a Service (VCP5-IaaS). Some individuals are about to be invited to paticipate in the beta phase. The rumor goes that the public exam should be live late July. The exam will probably measure the skills and abilities installing, configuring [...]

Some days ago I’ve received a new book (VCP5 VMware Certified Professional on vSphere 5 Study Guide: Exam VCP-510) and this his the review. The author, Brian Atkinson, is a well-know guy in the virtualization field: he is VMware vExpert 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 as also a moderator and guru in VMware community (vmroyale [...]

As written in a previous post, one of the possible criteria to value as good is a IT certification is correlate it to the real request on the IT world. Maybe is a material criteria, but it protect the investment and also make possible grow the skills of the certification (you must make practice or [...]

Some days ago there was a case of one guy that was using VCDX certification (and several other certifications) without having it (or at least without demonstrate it). One of the biggest problem in certification credibility is avoid fraud. Of course some could gain the certification with cheats and other form of frauds, but for [...]

As most people already know, one of the bad aspect of a beta exam (but for somebody maybe could be also be a good aspect) is that there is no information (neither the result and the score) after the exam itself… After several weeks there is the “pass/not pass” status… in my case I’ve waited [...]
