After (several months) the last CloudOps events, the CloudOps VMUG SIG will organize a new event with Platform9 about IT Management. Next CloudOps SIG Event: Platform9 Wednesday, December 10, 2014 – 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. (CT) Registration link

Today I’m attending at the Nordic VMUG User Conference (it must be the second or the third user conference of this group) that represent also my first VMUG User Conference outside Italy. Past year there were 470 attendees (623 registered) really a lot of people and, in fact, the Bella Center is used (the same used in VMworld EU editions in Copenhagen).

November will be a great month for VMUG User Conferences in Europe with three great events: UK VMUG User Conference – Tuesday, November 18, 2014 Nordic VMUG User Conference – Thursday, November 20, 2014 Germany VMUG User Conference – Tuesday, November 25, 2014

Today VMUG will launch the VMUG Engage, a new program (in a gamification form, like the CloudCred initiative) that allows to earn points every time you participate in the VMUG community. Whether you register for a User Conference, attend the Virtual Event, post in a discussion forum or connect with another user, you’re earning points!

The CloudOps VMUG SIG is working on the next events and on-line sessions. Do you have a nice idea, an interesting technology or example or would you like to hear about something special (of course CloudOps oriented)? Just fill this Call For Paper module with your idea and suggestions in order to help the CloudOps SIG team in building a rich agenda for the next months.

A good opportunity to learn more, share experiences, and make networking. And note that some sessions (we are trying to build an entire track) will also be in English, so this is not only for Italian people, but for all […]

After the launch event of this group, those are the events organized by the CloudOps VMUG SIG: CloudOpsSIG: Automated Development & Test in Private Cloud: Making it Work in Your World | Thursday, July 25, 2013 CloudOps Survey Findings: A Live Google Hangout Panel Discussion | Tuesday, July 30, 2013 VMworld US 2013: Tuesday, August 27 For more info about the VMUG SIG see also this post.

The VMware Special Interest Groups (SIGs) are some special VMUG groups that differs from geographically local groups by this key points: are topic oriented (and not geo-localized), are globally (worlwide), are almost virtually (with limited face to face meeting) and are interactive at each level (learn from peers, partners but also from VMware). Within these SIGs, members can connect and collaborate through topic based global communities.
