After few months after the Veeam Backup & Replication v6.1 announce (one year after the v6.0 announce), today Veeam has announced the new release of their products.

New support matrix for recent virtualization products:
- Support for VMware vSphere 5.1 (one of the first and not the the v6.1 is not compatible)
- Support for Windows Server 2012 + Win8 (one of the first)
- Windows Server 2012 + Hyper-V3 (included the free Hyper-V Server)
- CBT for CSV2, also over SMB3
- New VHDX support (up to 64TB for a single virtual disk)
- Support as guest OS incl app-aware processing
- ReFS incl single file recovery
- Server 2012 deduplication on Veeam repository
- Server 2012 for all Veeam roles (server+proxy)
New features (included in all editions, also the free one, aka VeeamZIP!)
- Veeam Explorer for Exchange
- Actually was only in beta, as a standalone tool. But will be integrated in the new release!
- Tool to handle Exchange 2010 granular restore using a “file browser” approach (note that U-AIR/Exchange still works for Exchange 2007)
- Mail could be export in different way, included .PST file, but also by restore them to original location (in this case Veeam B&R Enterprise is required)
- Supports backups & SAN Snapshots (it works not only on Veeam Backup but on any offline .edb!)
- Existing mailbox datastores auto detected & mounted
