Next VeeamON conference is approaching fast: it will take place at Ernest N. Morial Convention Center at New Orleans (Louisiana) during May, 16-18 2017.

After the first edition (in 2014) and the second (in 2015), after one year with only live or local events (like VeeamON Tour), this will be the third big own event from Veeam (and it’s ecosystem). An important milestone for a company that was founded in 2006 and now one of biggest in its field (and still a good example on how the virtualization ecosystem can grow using also the ecosystem itself).

VeeamON will be a big event (and potentially one of the “biggest”) not only about Veeam and their products, but on the entire availability and data protection area with more than 3,000 peers, thought leaders, subject matter experts and IT professionals to discuss the latest in data center modernization using virtualization, storage and cloud technologies.

As usually VeeamON event will be 3 day event, and will focused both on partners and customers in a rich agenda (plus a parallel training session for VMCE certification paths).

The schedule include more than 85 breakout sessions! And finally the VMCE courses are that handled (in my opinion) better with a minimum overlap with the main event.

If you are interested in presenting your story at VeeamON the Call for Presentations are still open until 7 Feb 2017 and can be reached here. Veeam will pay for your conference pass, travel and hotel accommodations so could also be a good opportunity to attend at this event.

For other people, to have a discounted pass, there are two way: use some partner oppunity (discounted ticket or also free ticket, depending by the number or tickets) or just register between Jan. 1 – Jan. 31, 2017 and you get the conference pass for the Early Bird price of 699 Dollar!

But why attend at this event?

There are different reasons, and of course there are the same of other similar events starting from the community and social aspects. But there are also some specific reason to attend at this particular event.

Content first

Like other similar event there was a Call For Paper, but compared to other events seems more clear and transparent the way on how the choices are selected and ranked. Simple and effective. Lot of sessions remain from main vendors, but also in this case they are a lot focused on customers or real world problems and solutions.

In any case remain the best opportunity for learn about the new release and it’s features (although most of the features were already announced, but I suppose that there is still the place for some “surprise”).

Keynote speakers list it’s also really interesting including Mark Russinovich, CTO, Microsoft Azure!

Be part of the history

This event is actually the biggest on dataprotection (is no more the only one) and availability. Still does not exist and European edition, but I hope that next year there can be.

Meet and know Veeam and other people

Veeam has grown faster from the 2006, but this event could be a big opportunity to meat most of the Veeam people. The entire board seems present and is not so common for big companies.

And networking also with other people: the conference is a great chance to connect with IT peers, experts and members of the virtualization (and not) community. From the Vanguards to other communities, like vExper and MVP (is one of the few event where you can found so many of both).

Lab Warz

Hands on Labs are usually a plus of this kind of events. But in this case you can show off your skills and compete in hands-on lab exercises to win!

The Lab Warz competition is based on your knowledge of Veeam technologies and best practices! Take the Veeam Lab Warz challenge and compete with your peers.
