I’m very proud and honored to be invited again to the next Tech Field Day in Austin (TX). It will be the 16th edition of Tech Field Day (#TFD16), just one year after the 13th, still in Austin (and where I was also invited).

I’m very excited for this event, that remains a must for all techie-people: be a delegate is a unique opportunity to meet interesting people, learn more on products and solutions and usually learn directly by the higher (technical) level of each company… All without biased discussion and always with a high technical level … Contents first in very few words.

Will also be the opportunity to see again some friends because in the delegate’s list there are several names that I know well:

• Jon Hildebrand – Virtualization/Data Center/Cloud/Orchestration/Automation Enthusiast
• Keith Townsend – Founder of The CTO Advisor LLC and is an IT management consultant with more than 18 years of related experience designing, implementing and managing data center technologies
• Luigi Danakos – Community driven Digital Marketing Expert, fascinated by community initiatives around virtualization, cloud computing, and DevOps
• Raff Poltronieri – Cloud Specialist @ Clouditalia Telecomunicazioni, vDC architect & engineering
• Sonia Cuff – Experienced Enterprise Systems Administrator & Architect now playing in the SMB space (on premises & Cloud)

At this moment the list of presenters is not complete, with only two names:

• Dell-EMC (no surprise considering that we are in Austin, the HQ of Dell)
• Solarwinds (another well know company with HQ in Austin)
• Forcepoint (a company focused on security and presenting for the very first time at a Tech Field Day event)
• One unknown (for now) “secret company”… maybe one that will exist in stealth mode?

Note that, some years ago, the TFD event format replaced the Virtualization Field Day (VFD) event format… maybe because the buzzword virtualization is no more attractive. But to be honest first editions of VFD where just called Tech Field Day, so it’s just a return to the origin. And virtualization it’s always there… server, storage, network, datacenter, all are virtualized (in some way).
