VMworld Europe 2019 will officially begin on November 4th with a specific day dedicated to partners, but also with a lot of other events, including a local VMUG event.
Still at Barcelona (maybe it will be the last year in this city, after a long row of editions?), just moved from Septembed to the first week of November (same period of VMworld EU 2018).
The location remains the Fira Barcelona Gran Via
Hall 6.0
Carrer del Foc 10
08038 Barcelona
What you should expect from this VMworld? Maybe the new version of VMware vSphere (v7?) where some features have already been spoilered at VMworld US 2019 (see What’s New in VMware vSphere 7).
The VMworld general sessions feature top VMware leaders and invited guests discussing their perspectives on digital business, transformative technologies, and innovation. Visit the content catalog to add the general sessions to your schedule. Can’t attend in person? You can join at live stream the general sessions from www.vmworld.com on 5 and 6 November.
To help prepare you for this event, VMware has curated everything you need to know before touching down at VMworld 2018 Europe: just look at this page.

There will be two main general sessions:
- Tue 5th 09:00 – 10:30: Join VMware CEO Pat Gelsinger and COO Sanjay Poonen as they explore bold innovations that the VMware ecosystem is bringing to market, with a special focus on new breakthrough offerings at the intersection of cloud, apps, containers, networking, mobility and security.
Whether you work in IT, app development, or security operations, you need to build existing skills while learning new ones. Tech pros today must master new methods of app delivery, new models for operating in a multi-cloud world, and new strategies to address cyber security threats – all while improving the end-user experience. Hear directly from leading-edge customers, and learn how you can hone new skills and harness new game-changing technologies. - Wed 6th 09:00 – 10:30: VMware EVP Ray O’Farrell will guide the conversation with a series of hands-on demos as we look at the dynamic interplay between apps, infrastructure, cloud, networking, security, and devices.
With business apps dominating today’s IT environments, what is the optimal way to deliver the best experiences to your customers and colleagues as you build, run, manage, connect, secure, and consume apps across a range of environments – cloud, on-premises, edge and devices? Is Kubernetes part of your vocabulary yet? What are the new skills you need to succeed in this dynamic app-centric world? What are key considerations when operating in a multi-cloud environment? How should you make security intrinsic to your day-to-day operations in a proactive manner? Assisted by a team of experts, you will discover new and emerging product innovations, best practices, case studies, and a few surprises along the way.
VMware CMO Robin Matlock will then host Bear Grylls, one of the most recognized faces of survival and outdoor adventure. This BAFTA award-winning TV host and bestselling author will share the exciting stories of his personal journey, including his time in the British Special Forces before becoming one of the youngest-ever climbers of Mount Everest.
Both sessions will also be available online: just look at this page.
I will attend at this edition (like previous European edition) and, most of the time, you can find me at the blogger lounge or in the Solution Exchange.
