Veeam Backup & Replication has several roles and for some of them you can use a Linux OS to implement specific roles.
Considering that CentOS Linux 7 will reach end of life (EOL) on June 30, 2024 will be really important know which versions and which distributions are supported.
And recently has been released Veeam Backup & Replication 12.3 but with minor changes in the Linux OS support. Note that initially (9 December) there was no official support to RHEL or Rocky Linux 9.5!

Actually the roles Veeam Backup & Replication that does not (yet) support Linux, but only Windows OS, are:
- Veeam Backup Server and Console: Linux support should arrive in the next release, as announced at the latest VeeamON event.
- General-Purpose Backup Proxy for files or for Veeam Agent for Windows
- WAN Accelerator
- Mount Server
- Guest interaction proxy
- Distribution Server
- Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager Server
Note also that the Helper Host is only Linux based and for the Cache Repository is specified a generic Linux (or Windows) 64 bit support without specify the supported distributions or versions.
