Browsing Posts in vCertification

Reading Time: 2 minutes Although the official confirmation has yet arrived via email, it seems that (also) this year I was confirmed as a vExpert. Or at least they appear on the list published on the site: Announcing vExpert 2012 title holders. Considering the changes in the vExpert program and that I’ve tried the “Evangelist” path (probably the most “wanted” or at least desired… and where there are some really great evangelists) I be enormously honored by this confirmation. It ‘s been less than a year since the last vExpert 2011, but I seems that were only few days.

Reading Time: 2 minutes As written in a previous post, one of the possible criteria to value as good is a IT certification is correlate it to the real request on the IT world. Maybe is a material criteria, but it protect the investment and also make possible grow the skills of the certification (you must make practice or certifications just become useless). The request  and the offer could be loosely estimated by the salaries: usually where are high it mean that the request is high and of offer maybe is not enough (or simple that the skill is […]

Reading Time: 2 minutes Seems confirmed that Toronto (Ontario, Canada) VCDX defense will be the last for the VCDX4. It is schedule in the week of May 7 through 11, 2012, but the registration has closed some weeks ago (as usual to give the right time to analyse the applications). Previously, by popular demand, the VCDX program has added another opportunities to attempt VCDX4 (as written also in the post “New (and last?) VCDX defense opportunity“). But now, seems confirmed, on the VMware Community, that the next defense after Toronto will be a new type of VCDX (strange but […]

Reading Time: 5 minutes As written in a previous post, I was not able to participate at the beta exam for VCP5-DT (due to no available seats in my Country). So I waited for the official exam also also when I’ve got at least a free day to study for the exam. Yesterday finally I’ve taken the exam and I’ve passed it, so my VCP-DT certifications is updated to v5. As written in the certification official page, the only requirement is have the VCP5 certification, no classes or other certification are mandatory. One year ago was also required the […]

Reading Time: 2 minutes In the previous post I’ve define some ways to verify a VMware certification, to avoid frauds and wrong usage of false credential. Note that VUE give also a way to authenticate a Score Report. For other certifications there are different ways and, in some cases, could also be simplest: Microsoft: for all this kind of certification there is a specific portal (Validate MCP Transcript) where you can put the MCP ID (each certified people has a unique ID and this does not depends on the certification type) and a password (defined by the certified guy) and get […]

Reading Time: 3 minutes Some days ago there was a case of one guy that was using VCDX certification (and several other certifications) without having it (or at least without demonstrate it). One of the biggest problem in certification credibility is avoid fraud. Of course some could gain the certification with cheats and other form of frauds, but for some kind of certification (like the VCDX one) this is not possible: who gain it usually deserve it. Actually there is a transcript tool for VMware certifications (and also for some accreditation) but it’s not public. You have your transcript […]

Reading Time: < 1 minute Pubblicato su IT Certification Master. I’ve already describe my journey (see last link on vinfrastructure.it) but maybe I’ve not yet describe how this certification has change my life. Basically because my professional life is not change at all, but this was a my choice. After the certification I’ve received several interesting proposal, but I like my jobs and I’ve choose (for this period) to remain in the “same boat”. Anyway the VCDX experience was a really great challenge and an important grow (not for my career, as described before, but for my professional skill and knowledge). […]
