Browsing Posts in vCertification

Reading Time: 4 minutes VMware has just officially announced that their certifications will change the names with something different and no more related to the product version. New certification names will be identified by the year they are earned. Potentially this will make easier to immediately identify how current a certification is.

Reading Time: 4 minutes Two years ago, VMware has started new vExpert (sub)programs on different technologies. One of those sub-programs was the vExpert NSX and I was honored to part of the first list. After the renewal of last year (VMware vExpert NSX 2017), I found that I’ve been renewed also for this year! VMware has just announced the list of vExperts NSX 2018.

Reading Time: 4 minutes The historycal technical certification from Nutanix was the Nutanix Platform Professional (NPP) certification: a free online exam to all Nutanix customers and partners wwhere training is recommended, but not required before attempting the exam. The exam was quite easy (due also the fact that it’s an online and not proctored exam), so the value of this type of certification was not so high. But was a requirement for Nutanix partners and and plus for a customer because it confirms your (minimal) ability to install, configure, and manage the Nutanix environment.

Reading Time: 2 minutes The vExpert vSAN program is a specific VMware vExpert (sub)programs focused on the vSAN product. The idea to have specialized groups of vExpert was to bring again (like at the origins) the vExpert program as an “elite” program. After the vExpert vSAN 2016 and 2017 lists, now VMware has just announced the vExpert vSAN 2018 new list. I was honored to part of this list again, and that’s pretty exciting, considering that I’m there from the first list.

Reading Time: 3 minutes VMware certifications paths have been increased in the recent years. From the original (and only) path, depending by the VMware technology, other paths have been added. On 2015, there were four paths (see also VMware certification roadmap v6) on the main VMware core products:

Reading Time: 3 minutes This year the vExpert 2018 announce has take much time compared with the the vExpert 2016 announce, or also also the vExpert 2017 announce. But finally has arrived, with some changes from the past years (not only for the delay, but also with the list that has been reduced). And also this time I’ve been confirmed as a vExpert. Note that “vExpert” is not a technical certification or even a general measure of VMware expertise, it’s much like an award.
