Reading Time: 3 minutes I’ve got the opportunity to take the VCAP5-DTD exam during the beta period (at the beginning of this year). After a really long period (common in the VMware beta exams, but this time more long that usual), on May 16 I’ve received an email with this sentence: Thank you for taking the VCAP-DTD Beta Exam. We are pleased to inform you that you passed! Congratulations! I’ve not receive yet the score report (was sent by snail mail), but does not matter too much… I’ve pass this exam, that wasn’t so easy.

Reading Time: 2 minutes As you know the EMEA edition of #vBrownbag has started and it has covered the VCP on the Cloud and the EUC (or DT) path and some VCAP (for more information, see the full list of certification paths and my session at the #vBrownbag at VMworld). The next scheduled session is dedicated at VCAP5-CIA certification (the admin part of the cloud path) with an introduction and the analysis of section 1 of the official blueprint:

Reading Time: 3 minutes The VCAP-CIA is the administration VCAP related exam for the VMware Cloud certification path. Was released some months ago (after the common beta period) and is the second type “admin role based” exam (after the VCAP-DCA one). Considering how is recent and new there are only few info about it: some exam experiences (mostly in the beta period), the confirmation that is based on vCloud Director 5.1 and of course the official page and documentation (including the blueprint). There is also a CIA LinkedIn Group to discuss your study plans. Strange but there isn’t yet […]

Reading Time: 2 minutes Although the official confirmation has yet arrived via email, it seems that (also) this year I was confirmed as a vExpert. Or at least they appear on the list published on the site: vExpert 2013 awardees announced. Funny that it happened exactly like the previous year… list first and then the official confirmation (we will also see if there will be some additions in the list).

Reading Time: 2 minutes We have already disccus about the re-introduction of the MCSA and MCSE certification levels and also of the new MTA level (see also my exam experience). Recently also the MCM certification level has been slightly modified (with a new name MCSM). Microsoft certification site could help to find the right IT certification for your needs and your competency.

Reading Time: < 1 minute According with the official web site, the “old” Microsoft Certified Master (MCM) certification level has recently been renamed in  Microsoft Certified Solutions Master (MCSM). The reason is to align MCSA, MCSE, MCSD, and MCSM into a common naming scheme. The existing MCM certifications are unaffected by the certification name changes. And also the MCM certification will not expire. MCSM certification is still a prerequisite for all Microsoft Certified Architect (MCA) certifications. Actually Microsoft Certified Solutions Master paths are: MCSM: Data Platform MCSM: SharePoint MCSM: Communication MCSM: Messaging MCSM: Active Directory Note that there is still […]

Reading Time: < 1 minute Some interesting data about VCDX guys: VCDX Directory VCDX  Map VCDX by the Numbers (Update) VCDX age (old data)
