Reading Time: 2 minutes Nutanix is a well know hyper-converged company founded in 2009 with the vision of bringing the benefits of web-scale IT to the masses. They have changed the rules of traditional storage (on 2009 mostly SAN based) and become the pioneer of concepts like no-SAN and no-LUNs, hyper-converged and web-scale storage.

Reading Time: 2 minutes APAC edition of #vBrownbag is managed by my friend Alastair Cooke (the creator of AutoLab) and actually he is covering the VCP6-Desktop blueprint. One big news of the new version of this certification is the part related to VMware Mirage: the entire section 5 is dedicated to Install, Configure, and Manage VMware Mirage. How don’t know how much will impact the related exams (I’ve not took it yet), but for sure mean a more End User Computing perspective rather that something related only to the View part. Reading Time: 2 minutes Tech(nical) Field Day are well know events, organized by Stephen Foskett and his team, with the purpose of bring together innovative IT product vendors and independent thought leaders to share information and opinions in a presentation and discussion format. There are different Tech Field Day events by topic (Storage, Virtualization, Networking, Wireless and, this year, also one on Data), but also some special events live from other IT events: Tech Field Day Extra and Tech Field Day Live. And although not a Tech Field Day event, the same staff has occasionally organized a live Symposium event to showcase a particular area of enterprise IT technology.

Reading Time: 2 minutes After the success of the first edition of VeeamON event, the related web site now report the dates of 2015‘s edition and confirm the city (Las Vegas). VeeamON 2014 was the world’s first and only event to focus entirely on Availability for the Modern Data Center, and it’s nice that it will become a “ritual” event in the IT scenario. Pre-registration has already opened up but cost has not been announce (I suppose it will be similar to past edition).
