The second VeeamON event has just finished and this time I was lucky enough to be there and be able to judge this kind of event.
First to all thanks to the Veeam Vanguard program (and the related team: Rick Vanover, Kirsten Stoner, Dmitry Kniazev) for this opportunity: this “expert/influencer” program has start in the best way and seems really valuable. Appreciated the briefing before the event with dedicated sessions and roundtables.
Then really great sessions, from Veeam with a lot of “best practices” or also “worst practices” sessions, but more important with the technical level that was really true as the one declared (and is not so more common). But also from other speakers and good parallel sessions also the vBrownBag TechTalks and the Microsoft MVPs.
The general sessions were good: for sure the first one with some customers and a lot of announces and the latest one with William Shatner. Maybe less the second one, just because was only for the Veeam sponsors (although some speech were really valuable, like the one from Jeffrey Snover of Microsoft).
The exibitory area maybe was not so big (but of course you cannot compare with the one from other bigger events), but anyway the Veeam ecosystem is growing and the were enough sponsors. Of course the Veeam booth was the biggest with a dedicated Expert Bar:
In the same area there was also the LabWars stand, were people have tested their skills an were interesting prizes were available.
Great team and really well done. A good example for other events.
