Reading Time: 5 minutes The US edition of VMworld 2018 is finally over and maybe you want to know what’s new (or if there are something news compared to previous year). Last news from the event is where will be next year: back again to San Francisco. Good news for somebody (me included, considering that I found Vegas too boring if you already have visited it 2-3 times), bad news for others… Anyway a change. And what’s happened during VMworld US 2018?

Reading Time: 3 minutes As announced one month ago, after the Mastering VMware vSphere 6.5 book I was working on a new book project, still based on vSphere 6.5, but this time focused on the VCP6.5-DCV exam. Reading Time: 5 minutes As usual, VMworld has several announcements, and for the second year in a row, there are some important announcements about the core virtualization platform: VMware vSphere. First news is a not surprising new vSphere 6.7 Update 1… At the begin of the year, my bet was that vSphere 6.7 was announced during VMworld US and maybe vSphere 6.7 Update 1 at VMworld EU, but seems that the releasing of the product has been accelerated (in my opinion to accelerate vSAN growing).

Reading Time: 4 minutes Runecast Analyzer is a proactive issue detection software for VMware vSphere environments, powered by the largest database of automated VMware KB articles which feed its internal archive of known issues. It’s based on a virtual appliance (VA) that you can deploy in your environment (or also on a different environment) to check your vSphere (and also vSAN and NSX) environments.

Reading Time: 4 minutes VMware has just officially announced that their certifications will change the names with something different and no more related to the product version. New certification names will be identified by the year they are earned. Potentially this will make easier to immediately identify how current a certification is.
