Reading Time: 3 minutes There is just a week before the new edition of VMworld EU and also if lots has been announced during the US edition, we can expect some interesting news also at this event. For me will be a good way to meet again lots of friends again, visit some booths to learn more from sponsors, pass some time in the community area and try to see some sessions. This year, I don’t want to write a complete pre-conference guide, old posts like VMworld 2015 EU or also VMworld 2014 EU tips tips are still valid.

Reading Time: 3 minutes The US edition of VMworld 2016 is finally over (and the location and venue are been announced for next year: August 27 – August 31 still at Mandalay Bay Hotel & Convention Center). But which news are coming from this event? This year, I’ve not attend at the US edition, but I will go, as usual, at the European one. So I cannot make a detailed report, or at least I can only comment other reports. The first “news”, is the Dell-EMC fusion and again (like at the last VMworld EU) Michael Dell was present […]

Reading Time: 1 minute If you plan to attend at the VMworld EU 2016 and you still don’t have the event’s ticket, you can try to apply for this opportunity from VMTurbo to have a free ticket. Enter for a chance to win two free tickets. Limit one entry per person. Eligible entries will remain in drawing pool for subsequent drawings if not drawn as winner Three Drawings: August 5, August 19, September 9

Reading Time: 2 minutes Would you like to attent to VMworld 2016 US or Europe, but you don’t have the budget for the conference pass and/or the travel expenses? Then try your luck with one of the existing contents. Like in the past years, there are some opportunity to win a VMworld 2016 pass and/or travel expenses.

Reading Time: 2 minutes As announced in the past VMworld 2015 US, the location US for VMworld 2016 will change from San Francisco to Vegas (probably for at least two editions). For the European edition the place will remain the same: again Barcelona. Those will be the dates (similar periods) US edition: will be in Las Vegas during August 28 – September 1 (with a partner day on August 28) EU edition: will be in Barcelona during October 17 – 20 (with probably the partner day on 17)

Reading Time: 3 minutes Now that VMworld EU 2015 has finished and I’m back to home, I can point some takeaways from this trip and give my event’s impression. Like the US edition this was a a VMworld (since several years) without any news related to a new vSphere release… focus has shift on other products and VMware is changing (the change has start some years ago) from a virtualization company to somethin more… something slighlty diffent (but it take more space to define this concept and I prefer keep for another post).

Reading Time: 1 minute The European VMworld 2015 edition is starting today with Partner Exchange Day and some Executive Roundtable with NSBU Executives. But also with the Hands-on-Lab and the parties (really a lot on Monday). More than 200 sponsors, more than 250 technical sessions, more than 10.000 expected attendees!

Reading Time: 3 minutes Like in the VMworld US 2015 edition, the #vBrownbag TechTalks are returning also this year at the European edition. The TechTalks are ten-minute presentations by community members at an industry conference. Most of them (and the original idea of the vBrownBag “unconference” was this) are originated with sessions not being accepted for the main conference catalog. We know we want to learn from the community so we arranged an alternative forum. TechTalks are limited to ten minutes; they deliver the very core of an idea. Keeping presentations short also means we can do a lot of sessions […]

Reading Time: 9 minutes The VMworld US edition is finished some weeks ago and there are just four weeks until the European edition of VMworld 2015! Although those two edition are too close there are still lot of difference in the contents and in the events themselves. The European edition remain one of biggest event in EMEA and a must, especially if you have lost the US edition. This year I’ve followed also the US edition, so that I can make a comparison between them. And anyway, I’ve attend at all the EU editions and was a pity miss one of them. […]

Reading Time: 3 minutes During the last VMworld US, I’ve got the opportunity to talk with Yoram Novick, CEO of Maxta, about their storage solutions. Maxta’s mission is to dramatically simplify and streamline IT by thinking outside the storage box. Their idea is simple: eliminate Storage Arrays and Storage Networking with a completely software based storage solution that provide an hypervisor agnostic, VM-centric Enterprise-class data services for VM agility, continuous availability, data protection, and capacity optimization.
