Reading Time: 2 minutes As written in a previous post, one of the possible criteria to value as good is a IT certification is correlate it to the real request on the IT world. Maybe is a material criteria, but it protect the investment and also make possible grow the skills of the certification (you must make practice or certifications just become useless). The request  and the offer could be loosely estimated by the salaries: usually where are high it mean that the request is high and of offer maybe is not enough (or simple that the skill is […]

Reading Time: 5 minutes As written in a previous post, I was not able to participate at the beta exam for VCP5-DT (due to no available seats in my Country). So I waited for the official exam also also when I’ve got at least a free day to study for the exam. Yesterday finally I’ve taken the exam and I’ve passed it, so my VCP-DT certifications is updated to v5. As written in the certification official page, the only requirement is have the VCP5 certification, no classes or other certification are mandatory. One year ago was also required the […]

Reading Time: 3 minutes Some days ago there was a case of one guy that was using VCDX certification (and several other certifications) without having it (or at least without demonstrate it). One of the biggest problem in certification credibility is avoid fraud. Of course some could gain the certification with cheats and other form of frauds, but for some kind of certification (like the VCDX one) this is not possible: who gain it usually deserve it. Actually there is a transcript tool for VMware certifications (and also for some accreditation) but it’s not public. You have your transcript […]

Reading Time: 2 minutes During the Partner Exchange (PEX) of last year, VMware has announced a certifications path for the Enterprise Desktop Virtualization area (for more detail see this page). At the event of this year other there was some update on this path. After his beta period, the VCP5-DT exam is now available, as also described in the official page. To become a VCP5-DT you have to: Be a VMware Certified Professional on vSphere 5 (VCP5) Pass the VCP5-DT exam No requirement for a VCA certification, as was also modified in the VCP4-DT. No advantages for who is […]

Reading Time: 1 minute Today has started the beta period for the VCP5-DT exam (of course on View 5).  The exam is available through December 20, 2011. I’ve received the official invite, but unfortunately in my Country there is any free seat for the entire beta period (this because only a subset of the testing center are authorized and in my Country there is a single center). By the way, the VCP511-DT beta exam consists of 210 questions and a short pre-exam survey consisting of 7 questions. The time limit for the beta exam is 225 minutes, with an […]

Reading Time: 1 minute Some hours ago I have received an e-mail from VMware Technical Certification Team to my VCP5 certification in my official transcript: The VMware education transcripts will now include your VMware technical certifications. Your online transcripts will reflect your VMware Certified Professional on vSphere 5 status as soon as you: –  Confirm your shipping address –  Consent to transcript release –  Accept the VMware Certification Agreement With this, all certifications are now correctly listed in the transcript… and I can take a breack… until next new certifications :) Some welcome kits are still missing (also my […]

Thank you for your participation in the beta exam.  Your input and participation were invaluable to this process. Reading Time: 1 minute VMware Education has decided to make enhancements to the Desktop Virtualization Certification Program. Effective immediately, VMware Certified Associate 4 – Desktop (VCA4-DT) certification is not a pre-requisite for the VMware Certified Professional 4 – Desktop (VCP4-DT) exam. For the new path see the official VCP-DT page. All other requirements for the Desktop Certification Program remain the same: for the VCAP-DT certification (still no news about it and when the beta will start) require the VCP-DT (and also the VCP certification, but this was already required for the VCP-DT). Why of this change? Maybe because there […]
