One year after the past CloudOps SIG webinar, theCloudOps VMUG SIG will organize a new event with VMware about Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) and End User Computing (EUC) integrations for VMware NSX.

  • Next CloudOps SIG Event: VMware NSX
  • Tuesday, November 24, 2015 – 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. (CST)
  • Registration link

CloudOps-SIGSession Abstract: VMware NSX is the abstraction layer that provides decoupling from the hardware on the most critical part of the data center: the network. By shifting typical functions, such as routing, switching, firewalling and load balancing from the bare metal devices to the hypervisors, unprecedented agility, security and operational efficiency can be achieved, without the need of changing the existing network hardware footprint. This session is focused on describing how NSX can integrate with several VMware solutions, in order to provide a real Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC). After a brief description of what NSX does and how it looks like, the main integration points and use cases will be presented, with specific emphasis on Horizon View, Airwatch, SRM and the vRealize Suite (Operations, Log Insight and Automation). A deep dive will follow, focused on the virtual network & security consumption models that NSX exposes through the vRealize Automation Cloud Management Platform. Finally, before Q&A, a demo of the upcoming vRealize Automation 7 (not released yet) and NSX integration will be shown.
