Reading Time: 2 minutes Nutanix has announced the Nutanix Technology Champions (NTC) 2020 list. NTC is a community award, started on 2014, similar to others programs like VMware vExpert, Microsoft MVP, Cisco Champions, EMC Elect, … rewarding members of the community on their efforts in sharing their knowledge and enabling fellow community members.

Reading Time: 2 minutes The VCP-NV 2019 certification proves you can transform the economics of network and security operations for your company. VCP-NV 2019 certification validates your ability to install, configure, and administer NSX virtual networking implementations, regardless of the underlying physical architecture.

Reading Time: 3 minutes The VMware vExpert is an award is given to individuals who have significantly contributed to the community of VMware users over the past year. Basically the VMware vExpert program is VMware’s global evangelism and advocacy program. The program is designed to put VMware’s marketing resources towards your advocacy efforts. The awards are for individuals, not companies, and last for one year. Employees of both customers and partners can receive the awards.

Reading Time: 3 minutes This year the vExpert 2019 announce has taken much time compared with the vExpert 2018 announce, because of some changes in the votation process. But finally has arrived, with some changes from the past years (not only for the delay, but also with the list that has been reduced). And also this time I’ve been confirmed as a vExpert. Note that “vExpert” is not a technical certification or even a general measure of VMware expertise, it’s much like an award.

Reading Time: 2 minutes Veeam has announced the Veeam Vanguard 2019, actually only by email. The official list is still outdated with 2018 names, but probably there will be several renewal and some changes. The Vanguard program represents Veeam brand to the highest level in many of the different technology communities. It’s a program around the community of Veeam experts that truly get our message, understand our products and are our closest peers in IT.

Reading Time: 6 minutes The Advanced Deploy vSphere 6.5 2018 exam is one of the first “new rebranded” VMware exam, with the new naming convention. The exam 3V0-21.18 is basically the old VCAP-Deploy (or Admin) based on VMware vSphere 6.5 (actually only the VCP-DCV has been updated to vSphere 6.7, yet) and can be used to obtain the VCAP-DCV 2018 (VMware Certified Advanced Professional — Data Center Virtualization Deploy 2018) certification.

Reading Time: 3 minutes With a little delay, finally the VMware vExpert 2019 Applications are now open! Applications will be accepted until Friday, February 8th at midnight PDT. The vExpert 2019 announcement will be late February to early March.

Reading Time: 3 minutes On August 2018, VMware has officially announced that their certifications will change the names with something different and no more related to the product version. New certification names will be identified by the year they are earned. Potentially this will make easier to immediately identify how current a certification is.

Reading Time: 2 minutes Nutanix has announced the new list of Nutanix Tech Champions (NTC) 2019. NTC is a community award, started on 2014, similar to others programs like VMware vExpert, Microsoft MVP, Cisco Champions, EMC Elect, … rewarding members of the community on their efforts in sharing their knowledge and enabling fellow community members.

Reading Time: 4 minutes VMware certification paths are quite clear with well defined technology paths (DCV, EUC, NV, Cloud) and different levels (VCP, VCAP, VCDX). All certifications require at least one proctored exam (some may require two different exams). The names of all exams and certifications will change using a “year” notation, but the concept remain the same. But there are also other type of exam, non proctored and just on-line version. One example are the Foundation exams.
