Reading Time: 5 minutes Now that the Dell Enterprise Forum EMEA at Frankfurt has finished is possible comment this event and compare with the previous EMEA editions. This year, due to work commitments I was able to attend only one day (Tuesday), and for this reason my evaluations will certainly influenced by this limited time (that of course cannot describe the entire event). But the first impression (and partly also shared by some of the other attendees) is that this event was a bit ‘resigned (or undertone, if you prefer), certainly compared to the London event (where perhaps there were […]

Reading Time: 2 minutes Also this time I’ll be attending the Dell Enterprise Forum EMEA (this third edition, after London and Paris,  will be in Frankfurt) and will be a good opportunity to spend some time with the technical Dell people, see latest products, hear about the new strategy and new products. This is the first European Dell event, after the name rebrand and one year miss due to some changes in the period (previously was in Winter/Autumn, now in Spring).

Reading Time: 2 minutes Dell Enterprise Forum (DellEntForum) is the new name of the event previously named Dell Storage Forum. Worldwide there were already some events with this new name, but only on 2014 there will be the first EMEA event (properly this should be the third Dell’s EMEA event, after London and Paris Storage Forums): EMEA event: 14-17 April 2014 | Frankfurt, Germany

Reading Time: < 1 minute Seem that the Dell Storage Forum event has been renamed in Dell Enterprise Forum and the previous site (dellstorageforum.com) has been replaced by a new one (dellenterpriseforum.com). Also the twitter account @DellSF and been replaced by a new @DellEntForum one (seems that has only been renamed). Actually this does not change the planned events (neither the locations and the dates): US event: June 4-6, 2013 | San Jose, California EMEA event: 14-16 January 2014 | Frankfurt, Germany

Reading Time: 2 minutes This event was really interesting and useful. There are several reasons to attend at this kind of event, but networking with other people and with Dell guys remain the main reason.

Reading Time: 3 minutes During the last Dell Storage Forum event, there where a lot of social media activities. Considering that this time I was invited as a blogger, I can speak about all blogger’s related activities. The list of official blogger, this time, was quite limited: Barry Coombs @virtualisedreal Bruno Sousa @bsousapt Me (Andrea Mauro) @andrea_mauro Fabio Rapposelli @fabiorapposelli In this picture (taken by Michelle Richard) you can see the group with Charles Gillanders, formally a customer, but also a great blogger.

Reading Time: < 1 minute Pictures I’ve took a couple of pictures during the event and are all available on my Flickr page: For other pictures collection see: Official Dell Storage Forum Paris photo set Barry Coombs’s pictures (and also this one that is not structured)

Reading Time: 2 minutes As usual, on this event there where several sponsors, classified with a “storage” approach according to the level: Petabyte, Gigabyte, Megabyte. Petabyte Sponsors where: Brocade Comm Vault DataCore F5 Microsoft Siver Peak We have already talk about the Dell announces at this event, but also some sponsor have made some announces, like Comm Vault. But also other vendors has presented interesting products and solutions.

Reading Time: 2 minutes Today was the last day of the second European Dell Storage Forum. Lot of interesting announcements at this event (and I suppose more also next month at Dell World). Next weeks I will write a report of those days. Actually you can read something from those links: Press releases New products and features announcements BarryCooms’s reports: Dell Storage Forum 2012 – Paris – Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 And what next? Next US edition will be the one at San José, Jun 4-6 2013. About the EMEA one, next year there will be an […]
