Reading Time: 4 minutes

Today the VMworld EU 2018 will officially begin with a specific day dedicated to partners, but also with a lot of other events, including a local VMUG event.

Still at Barcelona (maybe it will be the last year in this city, after a long row of editions?), just moved from Septembed to the first week of November.

What you should expect from this VMworld? Something has already been announced at the VMworld US 2018, but there will other news.

To help prepare you for this event, VMware has curated everything you need to know before touching down at VMworld 2018 Europe: just look at this page.

As usaul there will be also a conference shuttle service provided from Barcelona-El Prat airport to the Fira Gran Via on 4-5 November. Shuttles will run every 30 minutes from Terminals 1 and 2. On 8 November, departure transfer shuttles will run from the Fira to the airport from 12:00-18:00, with a shuttle coming every 15 minutes.

VMworld 2018 Europe will boast two general sessions featuring top VMware leaders discussing the company’s industry perspective on digital business, transformative technologies and innovation. Details on each below:

  • Technology Superpowers – Tuesday, 6 November, 9:00 – 10:30
Join the VMware 20th anniversary celebration as Pat Gelsinger, VMware CEO and Ray O’Farrell, VMware CTO share what superpowers are needed to navigate the disruptive world of technology. Pat, Ray and additional guest speakers will discuss how to innovatively build and navigate the digital infrastructure that powers digital business.
  • Pioneers of the Possible – Wednesday, 7 November, 9:00 – 10:30
Sanjay Poonen, COO, VMware Customer Operations will talk with several customers who have taken the digital transformation path. Afterward, Robin Matlock, VMware CMO will host special guest speaker Martha Lane Fox. Martha is the founder and executive chair of, an independent think-tank and charity championing responsible technology for a fairer future. She will share her perspective on innovation, education and the development of responsible technology.

Both sessions will also be available online: just look at this page.

I will attend at this edition (like previous European edition) and, most of the time, you can find me at the blogger lounge or in the Solution Exchange.
