Some interesting site with useful hints:

Your priority should be as follow:

  • Networking
  • Sessions and labs (that seem most beneficial)
  • Vendor booths (where all the free stuff are :D )

My personal notes:

  • For blogger: use the  #VMworld 2011 Twitter Hashtags
But for each session there will be also a specific hashtag
  • Where look for a hotel? Near the downdown or near Bella Center?
I prefer near the city, for several reasons and because near Bella Center there is nothing (exept some hotels)
  • Car pool is really necessary? For networking yes, but last year there was a free pass for metro and train (in the city area)… I found it really useful
And for the airport, last year there was a free bus (really easy to find) from the airport to Bella Center
  • You can’t see all the sessions… but all the sessions are recorded, and you will able to see them later… this mean that you can balance sessions with other activities
  • Hands-on Labs are great… spend some time on them… remember that the track will be available also later, but the lab no…
  • Count on the Wi-Fi connection or not? IMHO I’ve never had any issue with it… at least try another area
  • Plan your bags considering that you may more space at the return (due to gadgets and other material that you can collect at VMworld)
  • Consider that you will have a backpack included in the registration
  • The dress is business casual. Make sure comfortable shoes are included when picking out your wardrobe
  • Always carry water with you? Maybe for Las Vegas, but for Copenhagen could be not mandatory… you can manage just one small bottle for the morning and one the the afternoon
  • Bring a Portable Charger with you… european standard plug
  • Enter contests to WIN! Somebody must win… why not give it a try?
BTW I never win in this contents
  • There are several vendor’s party, but also the VMUG Party 2011:
