During the last .NEXT event there was a special celebration: 10 years ago Nutanix AHV was born!

Ten years ago, Nutanix started on a groundbreaking initiative to develop a new enterprise hypervisor named Acropolis, now known as the AHV hypervisor. Inspired by the public cloud approach to virtualization, it was built as an enterprise hypervisor tailor made for the cloud era.

I’ve start writing about AHV in this post (June 2015), but the product was already in early stages some months before.

VMware Workstation and Fusion are Desktop Hypervisor products used by millions of people every day to run virtual machines on their Windows, Linux and Mac computers for demo, develop, testing and learning purposed.

Effective from May 6, 2024, there are some important news in VMware certifications: a new Certification Manager 2.0 portal page (https://cp.certmetrics.com/vmware/en/credentials/status), new New Certification Version Badges, Standardize Exam Fees for all exams, and the new Certification by Exam Only path!

The standard exam fee apply an all VCTA, VCP, and VCAP exams will now be charged a flat fee of USD $250.00. This new fee structure will take effect on May 6, 2024, and will apply to all new registrations, renewals, and retakes. There will be no changes to the exam content.
