Reading Time: 5 minutes Several months ago (on 26th August) I’ve taken the VCAP5-DTA beta exam and finally I’ve got the results: it was a pass! This time the confirmation email was slightly different from the usual beta result because also the score report was provided: Thank you for participating in the VMware Certified Advanced Professional – Desktop Administration program. Please find your score report attached. The result was a big surprise not because the exam was really difficult (wasn’t easy), but because was really long with several task to complete, with some of them really time consuming.

Reading Time: < 1 minute As you can notice in the VMware’s certifications planner, the End User Computing (EUC) path has slightly changed in some names: the related VCDX (not yet available) is simple called VCDX-Desktop (and no more VCDX-DT) and the same apply for VCP-Desktop (funny that in other point is still called VCP-DT). Remember also that the related VCP has two different path (as all other VCPs): one is the VCP-Desktop exam (that cover also the vSphere part) and one is VMware View exam. But the interesting aspect is the “Workforce Mobility” related to new Associate level (VCA): […]

Reading Time: 2 minutes The VCAP-DTD exam is quite similar, in the format, as the VCAP-DCD one, with lot of questions (115 questions!), composed by multiple choice, drag and drop, scenario questions, along with some “visio” style design questions. The total time for this exam is 195 minutes (with the usual 30 min. extension for non native English Countries) that seems much, but could be not enough considering that some questions (scenarios based and “visio”) will take a lot of time!

Reading Time: 3 minutes I’ve got the opportunity to take the VCAP5-DTD exam during the beta period (at the beginning of this year). After a really long period (common in the VMware beta exams, but this time more long that usual), on May 16 I’ve received an email with this sentence: Thank you for taking the VCAP-DTD Beta Exam. We are pleased to inform you that you passed! Congratulations! I’ve not receive yet the score report (was sent by snail mail), but does not matter too much… I’ve pass this exam, that wasn’t so easy.

Reading Time: < 1 minute I’ve written about my experience with the VCP5-DT exam but I’ve not started (and neither planned) to realize a blueprint with study notes like the one about VCP5. But actually there are some recent works that could cover this exam: VCP5-DT Blueprint Study Guide VCP5-DT Exam Preparation Notes

Reading Time: < 1 minute Some hours ago I have received an e-mail from VMware Technical Certification Team to my VCP5-DT certification in my official transcript:: The VMware education transcripts will now include your VMware technical certifications. Your online transcripts will reflect your VMware Certified Professional 5 – Desktop status as soon as you: – Confirm your shipping address – Consent to transcript release – Accept the VMware Certification Agreement

Reading Time: 5 minutes As written in a previous post, I was not able to participate at the beta exam for VCP5-DT (due to no available seats in my Country). So I waited for the official exam also also when I’ve got at least a free day to study for the exam. Yesterday finally I’ve taken the exam and I’ve passed it, so my VCP-DT certifications is updated to v5. As written in the certification official page, the only requirement is have the VCP5 certification, no classes or other certification are mandatory. One year ago was also required the […]
