Reading Time: 11 minutes The primary reason for becoming vExpert certainly should not be related to any possible benefits of the program. And once confirmed (for me is the seven year in a row) you have to think more about what you can give rather to what is to be expected. But I’d be a hypocrite to deny that there are also practical advantages in being a vExpert! Officially, VMware, according with the vExpert FAQ, say that the biggest benefit of the award is the public recognition as a VMware vExpert Award winner.

Change the default virtual hardware level in vSphere

Reading Time: < 1 minute When you create a new virtual machine in VMware vSphere (or also on a standalone ESXi) a default virtual hardware is choosed, according with the version of the ESXi. You can choose your own (with the custom wizard) or upgrade later, but note that the virtual hardware upgrade from the vSphere Client will always upgrade to the latest version supported by the host. Otherwise the upgrade from the vSphere Web Client you can choose the different version of virtual hardware.

Veeam released v9.0 Update 1 of its products

Reading Time: < 1 minute Finally Veeam has released on the patches portal both Veeam Backup & Replication 9.0 Update 1 (build 9.0.0.1491) and Veeam ONE v9 Update 1 (build 9.0.0.2088). For Backup & Replication note that after installing the update, during the first start of the Veeam Backup Service, required modifications will be made to the configuration database automatically to optimize its performance. These modifications may take up to 10 minutes to complete. Please do not reboot the Veeam server, or attempt to stop the service during this operation.
