From the beginning of the VCDX program, all VCDX holders bio and information have been inventoried and promoted on a VCDX directory page, which is the only official and authoritative source in order to verify this kind of VMware certification.

which is the only official and authoritative source in order to verify this kind of VMware certification. But wen the number of VCDX has grown (with 200 people), this page has become less usable and effective… and also has become more of a challenge to manage and keep the information updated.

To solve this issues, some days ago, Chris and Karl have announce a new official VCDX Directory with new functions and a new look has been deployed: vcdx.vmware.com. VMware new Official VCDX Directory : homepage

As visible, those new page provide already the new names for the VMware’s certifications paths: Data Center Virtualization, Cloud Management & Automation, Desktop and Mobility, Network Virtualization.

Also, the the new directory include new features, like:

  • VCDX number (this number is still progressive and will not change)
  • Recognition Tags (mentor, panelist, etc.)
  • 100% Self Service (each expert can edit its own information)
  • Searching, Filtering, and Sorting
    • Allow customers and candidates to find experts from around the world for projects they may have
    • Filter by Location and/or VCDX Type and/or Languages Spoken
    • Sort results by First/Last name or VCDX number
  • Highlighting VCDX type with the ability to flag multiple VCDX holders

The self service is a good idea, but actually this mean that not all data may be (yet) up to date. But the search feature is really powerful and you can search also by County or by language. For example by searching VCDX that live in Italy (those are only the first two):
