Reading Time: 2 minutesVeeam has announced the Veeam Vanguard 2018, actually only by email. The official list is still outdated with 2017 names, but probably there will be several renewal and some changes. The Vanguard program represents Veeam brand to the highest level in many of the different technology communities. It’s a program around the community of Veeam experts that truly get our message, understand our products and are our closest peers in IT. For several aspects, like the VMware vExpert or Microsoft MVP program, where the communities contribution is one of the main aspect.

Reading Time: 3 minutesI’m very proud and honored to be invited again to the next Tech Field Day in Austin (TX). It will be the 16th edition of Tech Field Day (#TFD16), just one year after the 13th, still in Austin (and where I was also invited). I’m very excited for this event, that remains a must for all techie-people: be a delegate is a unique opportunity to meet interesting people, learn more on products and solutions and usually learn directly by the higher (technical) level of each company… All without biased discussion and always with a high technical […]

Reading Time: < 1 minuteTechnology Live! is a one-day event, organized by A3 Communications, where up to four vendors showcase their technologies in action to a group of technical journalists, bloggers and analysts. A combination of presentations and demos allows each company to present its solutions with a much higher level of detail than is usually possible in traditional briefings. A highly interactive day for all participants.

Reading Time: 3 minutesIncrease a virtual machine disk size it’s so easy, on almost all hypervisor: just click and increase the space on the virtual disk. But it’s just one part of the game, the second part it does the same inside the virtual machine, and maybe it’s not so easy or fast increase the partition and the filesystem inside the related guest OS. For Windows OSes, starting with 2008 (Windows Server 2008 and Vista) it’s quite easy and totally manageable from the GUI (with the Disk Manager MMC). For Linux, it could be easy with LVM, but […]

Reading Time: 2 minutesOn October 2017, I wrote a post about a possible issue with vSphere 6.5 and 10 Gbps NICs (mostly standard on new deployment). The final result was a PSOD (Purple Screen Of the Death) and no solution was available (yet). VMware KB 2151749 describe this issue as related to possible upgrade at vSphere 6.5. But other customers have report the issue also on new deployment. Veeam, one of the first vendor to found this issues (from their customers), reports that the issues is due to network-intensive activities such as backup over NBD or vMotion randomly triggering one. […]

Reading Time: 5 minutesAs written in a previous post, some months ago, I’ve started a huge personal project that consumes all my spare free time. This project was a new book on VMware vSphere 6.5, really ambitious considering that will be a “Mastering” book, but the title and part of the content were not negotiable with the editor. Finally, the book Mastering VMware vSphere 6.5 is done and it’s now available on Packt site (and in the future also on Amazon).
