Nutanix Acropolis is now Citrix Ready

Reading Time: 2 minutesDuring the first .NEXT Conference, Nutanix has announced its next-generation Xtreme Computing Platform (XCP) and their Acropolis hypervisor (based on KVM). Most important Acropolis Hypervisor was validated for Microsoft Server Virtualization Validation Program, that mean compatibility and support for all Microsoft workloads that can run in a certified virtual environment! Now Nutanix has announced it is working with Citrix to drive down the costs and infrastructure complexity of deploying new app and desktop virtualization environments. In addition, Citrix is supporting the complete Nutanix Acropolis solution, which is now verified as Citrix Ready.

Install XenServer 6.0 in a VM

Reading Time: 3 minutesAs written in a previous post, Citrix with XenServer 6 is trying to fill the gap from VMware vSphere… and most features (included distributed virtual switches) are now common also in this type of solution. Of course features are only one of the possible criteria to select an hypervisor and a virtualization solution. To make some practice or just to have a look at the product, it is possible run it in a VM on VMware products, both Workstation 8 (and probably also 7) and vSphere 5 can be used.

Reading Time: 3 minutesOne trend in the last year(s) is that the virtualization ecosystem is growing outside the boundary where was born: historical partner vendor of VMware now are extending their solution to other hypervisors, and also also new products are designed to managed a more complex virtual environment.
