Reading Time: 3 minutes Last October, Microsoft and Docker, Inc. jointly announced plans to bring containers to developers across the Docker and Windows ecosystems via Windows Server Containers, available in the next version of Windows Server. This was for sure a big announce, considering also the containers momentum, but was just an announce, considering that no details was avaiable (and of course none is available yet in the the beta code of Windows Next). But finally there are the first details about this new technology and how it will work. Microsoft has announce it both on the Windows Server […]

Reading Time: 3 minutes Most IT administrators should be aware that in the next six months Windows Server 2003 will reach its end-of-life. For the Windows 2003 Server family you should know the following dates: On July 13, 2010 Mainstream Support for Windows Server 2003 family ended. On July 14, 2015 Extended Support for Windows Server 2003 family will end. So one year after the Microsoft Windows XP (and Office 2003) retirement, now it’s the turn of the Windows Server 2003 operating system family.

Reading Time: 4 minutes The Microsoft Azure portal is already pretty good, simple, useful and fast… with only few clicks (but of course you can work also with PowerShell) and few minutes you can deploy or configure your services. But, during those day, you can test the preview of a new portal (probably the next one) that is even better compared with the current one. The new portal start with a dashboard (and with custom themes) that was probably a big missing the current one (although you can reach several information from the inventory on the left or on […]

Of course it’s one of the main theme of the TechEd Europe and will be one of the hot topics on the MVP Summit on next week. Of course the new Windows Server (actually named Windows Server 10 on some sites, but probably renamed in Windows Server 2015) has a lot of new features and improvements that are covered on a dedicated TechNet page. Note that this list may be not complete yet… […]

Reading Time: < 1 minute According to Microsoft, Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award is given to “exceptional, independent community leaders who share their passion, technical expertise, and real-world knowledge of Microsoft products with others”. The awarded are people who “actively share their … technical expertise with the different technology communities related directly or indirectly to Microsoft”. An MVP is awarded for contributions over the previous year. Is more than an award (or accreditation) instead of certification and is quite similar (in the concept) like other “community” award, like the VMware vExpert.
