Reading Time: 4 minutes During the last IT Press Tour (the 14th), in the Silicon Valley (December 1-5, 2014) we met several companies in different categories (Cloud, Storage and Big Data). The second company that we met on the third day was SpanningCloudApps, a company founded on 2010 and based in Austin (TX) that provide unique cloud-to-cloud backup solutions and recently (October 2014) acquired by EMC (now is formally called Spanning by EMC).

Their solutions are targeted for the VDI and […]

I’ve already met them one year ago, during the past edition of VMworld Europe and this was the opportunity to know the news about those months. As I already written in the previous report, their storage are completely flash based, but the big difference from other similar approaches (like Nimbus Data and Pure Storage) is […]

Reading Time: 2 minutes During the recent VMworld Europe, I’ve got the opportunity to see Login VSI product, especially a new component to it’s benchmark tool for VDI and remote desktop/applications environment: Graphics Framework. The Login VSI Graphics Framework, available for Login VSI Pro users, makes it easy to test any professional graphics application (such as AutoCAD, Siemens NX and Photoshop) in virtualized desktop environments. Floris van der Ploeg (R&D guru) wrote an interersting blog post about this new Login VSI component.
