Reading Time: 3 minutes The available VCDX defense dates (and locations) for 2014 are been recently announced on a thread in the VMware Community. Some were already well know (during the PEX event). The interesting aspect is that there are more locations (basically one per main Region) and that (actually) seems that there is no plan to bring the defence during the VMworld (not a new idea, but this time make sense, considering the better proposal of dates and places).
Reading Time: 3 minutes Not only the VMware Horizon View 5.3 has been released but also the related Feature Pack 1. It’s available, as usual, in a dedicated download area. It also include the new Blast 2.2 protocol (aka the HTML5 access) that bring some interesting in term of performance and speed and reduce the big gap between the PCoIP protocol (for more info see also PCoIP vs. Blast). To use View Storage Accelerator in a vSphere 5.5 or later environment, a desktop virtual machine must be 512GB or smaller. Reading Time: 4 minutes VMware Certified Associate certifications are the new level (the entry level) of VMware certifications path. It is similar as other associate level from different vendor and does not have mandatory courses (but the company does provide self-paced free eLearning courses for each to help potential associates to prepare for the certification exam), but also it’s not mandatory (actually) for next level (VCP), so it’s mainly for people that want a certification but probably does not have an plan to approach (in short time) other level.
