With this service, IT teams can manage their cloud-based resources with familiar VMware tools. Announced during VMworld 2016, finally was available during VMworld 2017 (actually only available in the US regions Virginia and Oregon).

Nested virtualization on Google Compute Engine

This feature allows you to run one or more virtual machines inside a Compute Engine Linux virtual machine by leveraging Intel VT-x, processor virtualization instructions, to deliver better performance than what’s possible with alternative technologies like emulation.
