Reading Time: 2 minutesAPAC edition of #vBrownbag is managed by my friend Alastair Cooke (the creator of AutoLab) and actually he is covering the VCP6-Desktop blueprint. One big news of the new version of this certification is the part related to VMware Mirage: the entire section 5 is dedicated to Install, Configure, and Manage VMware Mirage. How don’t know how much will impact the related exams (I’ve not took it yet), but for sure mean a more End User Computing perspective rather that something related only to the View part. In the next APAC #vBrownbag session I will […]

Reading Time: 2 minutesTech(nical) Field Day are well know events, organized by Stephen Foskett and his team, with the purpose of bring together innovative IT product vendors and independent thought leaders to share information and opinions in a presentation and discussion format. There are different Tech Field Day events by topic (Storage, Virtualization, Networking, Wireless and, this year, also one on Data), but also some special events live from other IT events: Tech Field Day Extra and Tech Field Day Live. And although not a Tech Field Day event, the same staff has occasionally organized a live Symposium event to showcase a particular area of enterprise IT technology.

Reading Time: 3 minutesCisco Live are vendor events evolved out of the Networkers conferences that began in 1989. It offers a unique combination of in-depth technical education and training and cutting-edge insights from the experts and organizations that are setting the agenda for the future of technology and business. And also the possibility to testing and certification on Cisco products and the opportunity for attendees to extend their professional networks by forging new connections with like-minded colleagues.

Reading Time: 2 minutesToday I’m attending at the Nordic VMUG User Conference (it must be the second or the third user conference of this group) that represent also my first VMUG User Conference outside Italy. Past year there were 470 attendees (623 registered) really a lot of people and, in fact, the Bella Center is used (the same used in VMworld EU editions in Copenhagen).

Reading Time: < 1 minuteEach big vendor has some kind of “community award” for individuals who have significantly contributed to the community of the specific vendor’s users over the past year. Those kind of “experts” could be book authors, bloggers, leaders in some communities, tool builders, and other IT professionals who share their knowledge and passion with others. These people have gone above and beyond their day jobs to share their technical expertise and communicate the value of the specific vendor’s technologies to their colleagues and to the community. Usually the submission are annual (Microsoft MVP is quaternary, but […]

Reading Time: 2 minutesThe IT Press tour is a five-day event taking place this week in San Francisco that seeks to introduce the EMEA media to tech firms doing some interesting things in Silicon Valley. I will take part at the next edition (the 14th) that will take place exclusively in the Silicon Valley (during December 1-5, 2014). Since the 1st tour edition, the EMEA press group has met 105 companies for 155 sessions, some companies did multiple editions and adopted the IT Press Tour as a key marketing communication medium.

Reading Time: < 1 minuteAlso this year I’m attending at the Powering the Cloud event (this was the report of past event). I’ve also written about the reasons to attend at this event, that remain almost the same each year. For sure it’s one of the most valuable events in Europe (after VMworld EU) and in Germany (there is also the CeBIT event, but has different target) and this year it also share the space and timing with the Data Centre World event.
