Reading Time: 3 minutes There are several news at the VeeamON 2017 event: during the first general sessions new products have been announced, but also the new features of Veeam Availability Suite v10 that will drive business continuity and agility to new levels by extending the ‘Always on Cloud’ Availability Platform to manage and protect. With v10, Veeam offers a complete end-to-end Availability and cross-cloud data management platform for enterprise customers by supporting any workloads (virtual, physical or cloud) on any infrastructure in Multi-Cloud and Hybrid Cloud environments (private, public, managed or SaaS).

Reading Time: 2 minutes Veeam has just released the Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 Update 2 patch that will add not only fix and improvements, but also new features. Please confirm you are running version 9.5.0.580, 9.5.0.711, 9.5.0.802 or 9.5.0.823 prior to installing this update. You can check this under Help | About in Veeam Backup & Replication console. After upgrading, your build will be version 9.5.0.1038.

Reading Time: < 1 minute If you are using Veeam Backup & Replication to protect a Microsoft Exchange 2016 environment, you should not (yet) apply the Cumulative Update 5 (KB4012106) patch to avoid mailbox item-level recovery issue. In the weekly newsletter, Veeam notes that a couple of customers who already upgraded to CU5 reported some restore failures in Veeam Explorer for Exchange, caused by the significant change in one mailbox database structure.

Reading Time: 6 minutes The VMCE-A1: Design & Optimization V1 (VMCE-A1) exam is the second requirement to acquire the Veeam Certified Architect (VMCA) designation, after the VMCE-A: Design & Optimization V1 traning. Compared to VMCE exam is more costly, but it’s also another level. The exam must be taken at a Pearson VUE local testing facility with a time extention (30 minutes) for not native english (based on the Country of the testing center). Total time (without time extention) it’s 70 minutes, but it’s not a huge constraint.
