Reading Time: 3 minutes As written in a previous post, Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE) certification is a documented proof that an engineer possesses the necessary level of expertise to correctly architect, implement and configure Veeam Software Solutions. This Veeam’s certification (introduced with the v7 of its products) is a great investment for an IT professional looking to increase productivity, reduce operating costs, propel personal career advancement and achieve industry recognition.

Reading Time: < 1 minute Veeam has finally announced that the new Veeam Availability Suite v8 is in GA for everybody with a valid license and also for the trial mode. Veeam Availability Suite is the new new name of the bundle that includes Veeam Backup & Replication and Veeam ONE that bridges the availability gap by providing customers a new kind of solution—Availability for the Modern Data Center, which delivers RTPO of < 15 minutes for ALL applications and data for VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V environments.

Reading Time: 5 minutes During the first European Tech Field Day Extra (at VMworld EU in Barcelona) one of the companies was Veeam with an interesting session. Veeam does not need any introduction because it’s well know both in the data protection world and in the virtualization ecosystem. There were Doug Hazelman (VP or Product Strategy and Chief Evangelist at Veeam Software), Rick Vanover (Product Strategy Specialist and Community Manager at Veeam Software) and Luca Dell’Oca (EMEA Evangelist at Veeam). Of course one of the session’s topic was about the Veeam Availability Suite, but the main theme was how Veeam solves […]

Reading Time: 2 minutes Veeam Software, during the VeeamON event, has a announced Veeam Endpoint Backup FREE, a simple and free standalone solution that enables users to back up Windows-based laptops and desktops to an internal or external hard drive, a NAS (network attached storage) share or a Veeam backup repository. One of the misunderstandings of Veeam Backup & Replication product is that it cannot handle the backup of physical system: this is not exactly true. For virtual machines Veeam remain still an agentless backup solution. But you can register Windows (or also Linux) physical machine inside your infrastructure and […]

Reading Time: 5 minutes Some years ago, Veeam has introduced a “cloud” version of its Backup & Replication product (see Veeam Backup & Replication Cloud Edition) and also a specific program for Cloud or Service Provider, but with the next version of the data protection program and the next suite (Veeam Availability Suite) there will be something more interesting both for the customer and the service providers. I’ve already talk about the Veeam Cloud Connect but the implication and the possibility to build hybrid cloud solutions are quire interesting. During the last Veeam Technical Expert Club event this was […]

Reading Time: 2 minutes Veeam has released another great free tool: Veeam Task Manager for Hyper-V. Veeam Task Manager for Hyper-V is also one of the many new features in Veeam Management Pack v7 for System Center. Veeam Task Manager provides detailed Hyper-V performance monitoring metrics for CPU and memory at the individual VM level so you can identify which VMs are using the host resources. The metrics are updated every three seconds by default and can be configured to update less frequently if desired. And Veeam Task Manager for Hyper-V is not only free, but is also a portable […]

Reading Time: 3 minutes Has written in a previous post, Veeam has announced their first big multi-day event: VeeamOn 2014. An important milestone for a company that was founded in 2006 and now one of biggest in its field (and still a good example on how the virtualization ecosystem can grow using also the ecosystem itself). VeeamON will be a big event (and potentially one of the “biggest”) not only about Veeam and their products, but on the entire availability and data protection area. The agenda is not yet available, but the contents are quite interesting and, of course, […]
