On month ago VMware released the VMware vSphere 8.0 Update 3 with vCenter Server 8.0 Update 3 release instead is a General Availability (GA), but with  ESXi 8.0 Update 3 release is an Initial Availability (IA).

Now finally also ESXi 8.0 Update 3 is in General Availability (GA) so that we can consider almost ready for production.

To enhance the commitment to customer satisfaction, VMware (by Broadcom) has just announced the decision of extending the general support period for VMware vSphere 7.x. Originally set as April 2, 2025, the End of General Support (EoGS) date has been extended by 6 months, to October 2, 2025

This extension of general support period provides customers greater flexibility in planning future upgrades considering that still a lot of customers are using vSphere 7!

In those years I’ve wrote about the VMware but also Veeam, Microsoft, Nutanix products. I’ve followed the grow of the cloud model, the adoption (and evolution) of flash storage and a lot of other technology changes.

VMware® vCenter Converter Standalone provides an easy-to-use solution that automates the process of creating VMware virtual machines from physical machines (running Windows and Linux) and from other virtual machine formats.

Actually the most recent version remain the Converter 6.6 updated on Feb, 22 2024.

Considering that one of my most requested article was VMware Converter guest OS support, I decide to make an updated version.
