Commvault Cloud Rewindis the result of Appranix acquisition in April, 16: Appranix is a cloud cyber resilience company and Commvault made this acquisition to help enterprises get up and running even faster after an outage or cyberattack. 

Cloud Rewind acts as an AWS time machine. This cloud-native offering lets organizations “rewind” to the last clean copy of their data, recover that data, and automate the cloud application rebuild process so that businesses can get back to normal in minutes versus hours, days, weeks, or months.

Today, when organisations are attacked, restoring the data is only half the battle. The truly laborious task is actually restoring the distributed cloud applications, which are used to run and power that data.

What is minimum viability?

Minimum viability refers to the set of essential resources and capabilities (combination of critical applications, assets, processes, and people) an organization needs to maintain critical operations and fulfill its core mission after a disruption like a cyberattack or disaster.

It’s about identifying what’s absolutely necessary to get back up and running quickly and efficiently, rather than trying to restore everything at once.

The rise of cyberattacks is forcing organizations to rethink their recovery strategies. While detecting threats remains critical, a more significant challenge has emerged: making sure protected data is clean and available to bring a company back online.

ESXi free is back!

One year ago, Broadcom killed the Free vSphere Hypervisor, but now, with the last VMware ESXi 8.0 Update 3e, the free (and limited) version is back again! Broadcom makes again available the VMware vSphere Hypervisor (the entry-level and free hypervisor).

To download the free ESXi, you still need to login in the Broadcom Support Portal, but now you don’t need anymore any license entitlement.

Quesma: data proxy across different databases
