Reading Time: 6 minutesVMware has released a new version of NSX-v, the NSX edition for vSphere environment. Note that NSX 6.4 is a new minor release, but has so many important enhancements, new features, and improvements that can be considered a new major release. The most interesting news are the support to the HTML5 vSphere Client (another little step to a complete adoption) and some new interesting features and capabilità in the distributed firewall. Reading Time: 2 minutesVMware has just released the new major version of NSX-T 2.0 to provides an agile software-defined infrastructure to build cloud-native application environments. When Nicira product has been released was for Linux and physical platform, but after the VMware’s acquisition has been re-engineered to be integrated in the vSphere platform, with the new name of VMware NSX (now NSX-v). NSX-T is again a version for (physical) Linux system designed for management, operations, and consumption newtork resources insied a (development) organizations. NSX-T allows IT and development teams to choose the technologies best suited for their applications.

Now the list for 2017 vExperts who received the NSX award has been published. The program is build upon the vExpert program. To apply you must be a current vExpert as well as evangelizing VMware NSX. There will be an application once per year for each of the sub-programs.

Reading Time: 2 minutesAs promised in the last VMworld, now VMware has introduced two new less-expensive versions of its NSX product targeted for the mid-enterprise. Also on NSX there are now different editions with different prices and, of course, features. The full version will be the Enterprise one (sigh… on vSphere Enterprise has gone, wasn’t better call it Enterprise Plus), the intermediate Advanced and the starter just Standard. No Essential or Essential Plus, but will be difficult and non sense (yet) apply this kind of technology to the small business.
