Quest Software has announced the acquisition of Metalogix, a leading provider of migration, management and security solutions for Microsoft SharePoint and Office 365.

Quest was already strong in other migration tools for Microsoft products (but also for Oracle), but the acquisition of Metalogix strengthens the Quest Microsoft Platform Management solution portfolio by extending capabilities to support SharePoint, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive for Business.

“Today’s announcement reinforces our commitment to investing in technology that drives innovation and delivers more value to our customers and partners,” said Jeff Hawn, Chairman and CEO, Quest.

“We’re excited to join the Quest family and add our technology and expertise to the company’s fast growing portfolio of solutions that help organizations maximize the value of their Microsoft investments,” said Trevor Hellebuyck, Chief Executive Officer, Metalogix.

After the Dell acquisition on 2012, Quest has a new life: two years ago the brand has been sold out and a new Quest is on the market again. But still a global systems management and security software provider.

What is probably changing is the number of solution focused for cloud services.

As organizations move more workloads to the cloud, the risk and complexity of securing, managing and ensuring compliance for multiple environments increases.

The Quest Microsoft Platform Management solutions have been used to move, manage and secure more than 180M users globally for on-premises, cloud and hybrid environments.

As one of the leading Microsoft ISVs, organizations for years have turned to Quest solutions to help manage workloads across a number of Microsoft platforms, including Active Directory, Exchange, Azure AD, OneDrive for Business and   Office 365.

Metalogix’s rich set of SharePoint migration and management solutions has made it one of Microsoft’s most valued ISV partners. Adding these solutions to the Quest Microsoft Platform Management portfolio supports Quest’s commitment to offering the most complete set of migration, management and security solutions for Microsoft environments in the industry.
