NAKIVO is continuing releasing new versions of its main product, and now, after NAKIVO Backup & Replication v8.0  there is the new v8.1 release which introduces a breakthrough solution for data protection automation.

This latest version of the software revolutionizes the way businesses manage their data protection routines by reducing manual work to a minimum. In addition, v8.1 provides for universal recovery of any application objects.

Policy-Based Data Protection

Managing a large VMware, Hyper-V, or AWS infrastructure is a challenging task. NAKIVO Backup & Replication v8.1 eases the burden by introducing Policy-Based Data Protection. This new functionality lets customers create backup, replication, and backup copy policies to fully automate data protection processes.

Set up policies for your data protection processes and have the corresponding VMs protected automatically. When you add VMs that match your specified criteria, NAKIVO Backup & Replication protects them automatically.

A policy can be based on VM name, size, location, power state, tag, or a combination of multiple parameters. Once set up, policies regularly scan your entire infrastructure for VMs that match their criteria and protect the VMs automatically. This way, all important VMs and EC2 instances are protected with little to no manual input required.

Universal Object Recovery

To further improve data recovery processes, NAKIVO Backup & Replication has introduced Universal Object Recovery, which enables customers to recover any application objects back to source, to a custom location, or even to a physical server.

Whenever important application data gets deleted or modified, you can mount VM disks from a backup to your VM and use native application management tools to recover the data to your production database.

The Universal Object Recovery functionality is indispensable when it comes to saving time and resources on restoration. Customers can recover individual items from any file system or application by mounting VM disks from backups to a target recovery location, without needing to restore the entire VM first.


NAKIVO Universal Object Recovery

You can use NAKIVO Backup & Replication to recover application objects in a few simple steps: just open the Universal Object Recovery Wizard and select the appropriate recovery point. Once you choose the VM disks to be mounted, NAKIVO Backup & Replication attaches such disks to the specified VM or physical machine. All you need to do after the mount is log into the corresponding VM or physical machine and use native application tools to recover the data.

Universal Object Recovery is an efficient time- and resource-saving feature that provides you with multiple recovery options for flexibility. Recover anything you need near-instantly and make sure no important data is lost irrevocably because of disaster or simple human error.

SSL Certificate Installation

The latest version of NAKIVO Backup & Replication lets you install an SSL certificate to allow for a secure “https” connection.
