HPE and Simplivity: the deal is done

Reading Time: 2 minutesHewlett Packard Enterprise announced a definitive agreement to acquire SimpliVity, a leading provider of software-defined, hyperconverged infrastructure, for $650 million in cash. The hyperconverged market was estimated to be approximately $2.4 billion in 2016, and is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 25 percent, to nearly $6 billion, by 2020.  By bringing together HPE’s best-in-class infrastructure, automation and cloud management software with SimpliVity’s industry leading software-defined data management platform, HPE and its partner ecosystem will deliver the industry’s only “built-for-enterprise” hyperconverged offering.

Possible replacement for PernixData FVP

Reading Time: 6 minutesAfter the acquisition of PernixData by Nutanix (six months ago) the future of Pernix products is not clear at all. Actually is not possible buy neither FVP or Architect anymore, the PernixPro program has been closed (or “merged” into the Nutanix NTC) and no new version is available to support VMware vSphere 6.5. NMI purple diagnostic screen on HP ESXi hosts

Reading Time: < 1 minutePurple screen of the death are the “blue” screen of VMware ESXi when something really wrong happen, usually at hardware level. They are not so common, unless you stay in the Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) and have reliable hardware.
