Reading Time: 3 minutes One of the reason to wait before upgrade to VMware vSphere 5.5 was the lack of supported backup programs; except the one from VMware (vSphere Data Protection and the Advanced version). Now Veeam has released a new version of Veeam Backup & Replication (called 7.0 R2) with some important features included the official supporto of VMware vSphere 5.5, vCloud Director 5.5 and also Hyper-V 2012 R2.

Most of the related news are already know (partially I’ve describe some of them in this previous post), now it’s time to test and use them!

Reading Time: 3 minutes In the previous weeks Veeam has announced seven of the new features of Veeam Backup & Replication 7, by giving more application-aware functions and also a complete multi-tier backup solution (from the storage snapshots, to disk storage as a main level, to tape and/or cloud as the last or remote level). Note that tape support is more completed that was rumored inlcuding library support and more media rotation policies (included Grandfather Father Son). Veeam Explorer for SAN add a new storage

Reading Time: 2 minutes Veeam announces it has expanded integration with HP to include SAN snapshot recovery for HP 3PAR StoreServ 7000 Storage using HP 3PAR Virtual Copy Software. Currently, Veeam Explorer for SAN Snapshots enables IT administrators to recover virtual machines (VMs) or data directly from HP StoreVirtual Storage snapshots within the Veeam Backup & Replication application. Veeam support for the new 3PAR StoreServ 7000 Storage and all other 3PAR models is expected to become available in the first half of 2013.
