  • VMware Horizon Mirage 4.0
  • VMware Horizon Data (code name was project Octopus)

VMware Horizon View

The new version will include a lot of improvements in user experience:

  • Hardware Accelerated 3D Graphics (also enables shared access to physical GPU hardware)
  • Support for Microsoft Lync 2013 with Rich Media Services
  • Support for Windows 8 based desktops & clients (client where already supported, but virtual desktops where not officially supported)
  • Streamlined access to View Desktops from Horizon Workspace
  • Easily connect to desktops from any device with HTML Access (project AppBlast)
  • Enhanced Experience for Touch Based Mobile Devices

VMware Horizon Mirage

Ex Wanova product (now part of VMware offer) is the complementary part of View for the physical environments.

View-Mirage

Could be an interesting solution for OS migration (also in-place upgrade and now supporting also Windows 8) and hardware refresh. Note also that it used a unified image mangement for physical and virtual desktops.
