Reading Time: 4 minutes VMworld EU 2018 it’s now over and it’s possible shared what’s happened during this event. First to all: when and where will happen VMworld EU 2019? Again in Barcelona and it’s planned on 4-7 November 2019! To get the latest news and be updated on the future event, you can become a VMworld Insider.

Reading Time: 5 minutes During the VMworld US 2018, one of the announces was the VMware ESXi for ARM porting, specific for the embedded and edge IoT systems, so not like a general purpose solution for all ARM servers (but an interesting move to increase the possibility for bringing the virtualization on ARM). VMware demonstrated ESXi on 64-bit ARM running on ARM hardware built to common industry standards; note that VMware demonstrates not just virtualization, but also resilient operations and ease of management at the Edge, via FT-protected 64-bit Arm VMs and vMotion in a high-availability DRS cluster…

Reading Time: 4 minutes Today the VMworld EU 2018 will officially begin with a specific day dedicated to partners, but also with a lot of other events, including a local VMUG event. Still at Barcelona (maybe it will be the last year in this city, after a long row of editions?), just moved from Septembed to the first week of November.

Reading Time: 5 minutes The US edition of VMworld 2018 is finally over and maybe you want to know what’s new (or if there are something news compared to previous year). Last news from the event is where will be next year: back again to San Francisco. Good news for somebody (me included, considering that I found Vegas too boring if you already have visited it 2-3 times), bad news for others… Anyway a change. And what’s happened during VMworld US 2018?

Reading Time: 4 minutes During the last years I hear from several people that the huge VMworld event is becoming less attractive. Several people just say (for different reasons) that they probably will not attent VMworld event… unless finally going anyway… But it’s VMworld still a valuable event? An unmissable event?

Reading Time: 2 minutes As happened in the past, VMworld 2018 will be in the same locations, both for the US and the European editions: again Las Vegas and Barcelona. Those will be the dates for both events:

Reading Time: 5 minutes Now also VMworld EU 2017 is concluded, so finally it’s possible to give the takeovers of this event, there was something new compared to VMworld US 2017? Let’s start from the general sessions that where unfortunately too much similar (in some part identical) as the US edition… have two events so close (just two weeks of distance) is not useful at all, and the risk is to make the EU edition just a reply of the other… It’s already the small brother, but make it also a copy it’s a risk. Fortunately, the next year, […]

Reading Time: 2 minutes The US edition of VMworld 2017 is finally over and maybe you want to know what’s new (or if there are something news compared to previous year). Of course there are. Again Michael Dell was present during the keynote of the second day, side to side with Pat Gelsinger: Dell Technologies has becoming more and more present, although VMware seems to have still a good independence. Both general sessions are available on demand.

Reading Time: 4 minutes During the last Tech Field Day Extra at VMworld EU 2016 (where I was invited as a delegate) I’ve got the opportunity to learn the latest news from Nimble Storage. Rich Fenton (UK&I Systems Engineering Manager) and Nick Dyer (Senior Systems Engineer) gave us a great overview of the technology, but also some news and future trends idea.

Reading Time: < 1 minute Today the VMworld EU 2016 will officially begin with a specific day dedicated to partners (also considering the lack of the Partner Exchange event). What you should expect from this VMworld? Something has already been announced (see the AWS partnership). But finally, after three VMworld (counting both the EU and US edition) there will be some news on the core product: VMware vSphere (considering also the release of Windows Server 2016). And, for sure, more info and probably more news con SDDC (including VSAN and NSX) and CNA.
