Performance issue with vSphere 6.7U3 on Dell servers

Reading Time: 3 minutesOn my Windows 10 machine, recently I’ve got a strange issue with VMware Workstation (version 15.1, but I think could affect also other versions): sometimes was not possible power-on the virtual machines with strange error messages. The first error message was: “Cannot find a valid peer process to connect to”.

Compellent snapshot integration with Veeam

Commvault is acquiring Hedvig

Reading Time: 2 minutesCommvault has signed an agreement to acquire Hedvig, for total consideration of $225 million, which includes the purchase price and ongoing employee retention. Commvault was formed in 1988 as a development group within Bell Labs, and later designated as a strategic business unit of AT&T Network Systems. In 1996, it was incorporated as an independent company.  Their main product is focused on backup and data protection (and not only).

Workstation and Fusion news at VMworld US 2019

Reading Time: 3 minutesDuring VMworld US 2019 there was also space for some “minor” products like Workstation and Fusion. “Minor”, but still important in the future of VMware… and really important in the past (first VMware’s product was VMware Workstation). Also it’s good sign see that those products are still vital, considering that three year ago there were some rumors and doubts about the future of Workstation and Fusion products, due to the laying off some employees from the related teams.
