Reading Time: 2 minutes During the first .NEXT Conference, Nutanix has announced its next-generation Xtreme Computing Platform (XCP) and their Acropolis hypervisor (based on KVM). Most important Acropolis Hypervisor was validated for Microsoft Server Virtualization Validation Program, that mean compatibility and support for all Microsoft workloads that can run in a certified virtual environment! Now Nutanix has announced it is working with Citrix to drive down the costs and infrastructure complexity of deploying new app and desktop virtualization environments. In addition, Citrix is supporting the complete Nutanix Acropolis solution, which is now verified as Citrix Ready.

Reading Time: 3 minutes One of the big announces at the .NEXT Conference, was the introduction of erasure coding across nodes (in RAIN configuration) in Nutanix Operating System (NOS) version 4.1.3 (actually it’s a tech preview). Nutanix Erasure Coding–X (EC-X) is a proprietary, native, patent pending, implementation of Erasure Coding. With EC-X, Nutanix customers are able to increase their usable storage capacity by up to 70%. As written in a previous post, Erasure Coding (EC) is a way to implement data proctection in storage systems instead of using RAID techniques.
Reading Time: 3 minutes As written in a previous post, in those days I’ve attend at the Nutanix .NEXT Conference where several big announces have been revealed during the keynotes. First to all was a strength demonstration of Nutanix: 963 attendees with 7 no shows, more than 3200 registration for the Community Edition, from 0 to 1100 employees in 5 years, lot of announces in this conference, lot (really a lot) sponsors are great numbers and results.
