In a similar way as defined for the VCP-Cloud certification path, VMware has defined some cross-path for the the different VCP certifications to remove (if you are already a VCP on another path) the course requirements!

Those are the different options:

Several weeks ago I’ve tried the Admin related VCAP exam in the cloud certification path. I’ve already taken the Admin exams from the DCV path and was almost confident with the environment and type of task (at least the type of difficult level and type of format).

I’ve also spend several words to commend this kind of exam format that really prove the admin capabilities instead the mnemonic; also it’s almost difficult to cheat or copy so the certification itself gain obtain value.

About the exam preparation I’ve put some reference in this post: VCAP5-CIA study guides. But are not enough…

If we limiting to the three basic types: Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) or Software as a service (SaaS)… Which one could be the more interesting? As often “it depends” could be the answer, but paradoxically, many have very clear opinions about it (though it is not said that all fit together …).

Some month ago (on May 21st) VMware has launched its vCloud Hybrid Service, that is a customized version of a vCloud based IaaS solution targeted for hybrid cloud scenarios.

Some days ago vCloud Hybrid Service achieves ISO 27001 certification for its information security management system supporting this kind of service. ISO/IEC 27001 certification is a globally recognized standard for the establishment and certification of an information security management system (ISMS). The standard maintains the requirements for implementing an ISMS, which include a detailed risk assessment, internal audit, and continuous monitoring of the controls supporting the vCloud Hybrid Service.

On July 16th there will be a technical session (through Google+ Hangout) with more information about the VMware vCloud Hybrid Service:
