Hitachi it’s a huge company with a lot of products, solutions, technologies in different verticals (including automotive, energy, healtcare, …) but also spreading from the consumer part to the business and research part.

But on September 2017, has launched Hitachi Vantara, a new business entity to leverage the broad portfolio of innovation, development and experience from across Hitachi Group companies to deliver data-driven solutions for commercial and industrial enterprises.

This new company will unify the operations of Hitachi Data Systems, Hitachi Insight Group, and Pentaho into a single integrated business focused on operational technologies (OT) and information technologies (IT). A new brand, but also a more clear brand focused on the IT part.

The vExpert vSAN program is a specific VMware vExpert (sub)programs focused on the vSAN product. The idea to have specialized groups of vExpert was to bring again (like at the origins) the vExpert program as an “elite” program. After the vExpert vSAN 2016 and 2017 lists, now VMware has just announced the vExpert vSAN 2018 new list.

I was honored to part of this list again, and that’s pretty exciting, considering that I’m there from the first list.

VMware has announced the general availability of NSX-T Data Center 2.2.0. VMware NSX-T Data Center is the next generation product that provides a scalable network virtualization and micro-segmentation platform for multi-hypervisor environments, container deployments and native workloads running in public cloud environments.

VMware NSX-T Data Center has been updated to provide networking and security infrastructure for on-premise deployments, for VMware Cloud on AWS and also for other native public cloud, like Microsoft Azure.

VMware Integrated OpenStack (VIO) is an “Integrated Product” approach to OpenStack, to make simple to deploy and manage an OpenStack environment on a vSphere platform with the benefit to be still based on standard OpenStack but also to be fully supported by VMware.
