Reading Time: 4 minutesNAKIVO Inc. has announced (on 25 march 2013) that it has released NAKIVO Backup & Replication v3.0 with support for file recovery from local and cloud based VM backups, single click integration with Amazon cloud, and advanced reporting. Downloading an entire backup from the cloud to recover just a few critical files can consume an unacceptable amount of time. However, with NAKIVO Backup & Replication v3.0, files can be instantly accessed and restored from any VM backup, regardless whether it’s a few feet or few thousand miles away, enabling rapid operational recovery from anywhere, including […]

Reading Time: 2 minutesAt VMware’s Partner Exchange event at Las Vegas, Dell and VMware announced a strategic partnership to offer an end-to-end VDI solution for the mid-market. More interesting is that the announce was also during a PEX session (EUC1322: Enabling Cloud Desktops DaaS – Partner Opportunities and Technology) giving several interesting technical detail both for the DaaS related aspects (and also the limitation with the Windows license), but also in the Dell implementation.

The product is still available both for VMware vSphere and also for Citrix XenServer (and probably is the main professional backup solution for this hypervisor). I’ve tested the product beta for VMware (on vSphere 5.1) to verify the cloud features.

Reading Time: 3 minutesThis was another exam where I’ve lose the opportunity to try during the beta due to the lack of available time. But during the last VMworld EU I’ve plan to take it, considering that I require few time (for the exam) e was also with a good discount! The blueprint version 2.21 is still based on vCloud 1.5 (funny considering that the VCP5-Cloud exam is based on vCloud 5.1), so just remember to be prepared on the previous product (there is also a free self-paced course on vCloud Director 1.5)! When I took the exam […]
